The Parable of Noah (This Ship Feels Like..)
Written by: Blackwell
Produced by: Parable (Deviant Sounds)
For forty days and forty nights we’ve seen the strongest rains
At times it seems the sun might never, ever shine again
These thoughts spill from ark builders who’ve been staying true
But on the inside, man, this Ship be feeling like a Zoo…
How many ways could I have warned them we would see the rains?
They laughed at me, called me psychologically insane
Suggested meds to help me get my mental balance right
I had to charge some family to the game - that was a sacrifice
The voice spoke, my world shook, my soul overstood
I took action, started chopping up this gopher wood
Each raindrop another tear, I know the Father cries
He wished they would have listened, we had room for many more inside
“You teach doom, it seems gloom is what you’re hoping for”
“On top of that my man, you’ve never built a boat before!”
“The boat builders stack capital for many years”
…objections they repeated, I still hear them ringing in my ears
They say that prophets don’t get honored at home
The strife’s different, wife trippin, I be sippin on that bottle to zone
I’m being honest yall and trying to be strong
Please don’t ask me is that something I feel God would condone
We ain't got time for that!
Just telling yall what helps me keep my mind relaxed
We put you in my shoes you would’ve been done had a heart attack
This thunder is where God is at
His Spirit’s in the clouds
I hear him whisper from the distance “Son, it’s almost over now”
This thunder is where God is at
His Spirit’s in the clouds
I heard him whisper from the tempest “Son, it's almost over. Almost over now”
These thoughts spill from ark builders who’ve been staying true
But on the inside, man this ship be feeling like a zoo
These thoughts spill from ark builders who’ve been staying true
But on the inside, man they’re really just like me and you….

Divine Currency

Somebody Asked me “What’s Love?”
Is it “Real Love”, the “Tough Love”?
The “I’m gon hold you down though you’re still dealing with some stuff” Love?
“Take me as I am so I aint never gotta bluff” Love…
Divine Currency that we could never get enough of
A picture that’s framed without the filters and the touch ups
..thats taken candidly - without the the vanity - there’s beauty in the scuff ups
And if you make it through the dust-ups, it may just last forever…
We spell Love as a four-letter-word
And if you’re doing it right, it’s probably made you say four-letter words…to that person you like
I stand amazed at the irony
Relationship Goals ain't all that’s going down privately
The phone that you hold….is where your modern-day idols be
Striking a pose…that has you focused on rivaling
A fiction that grows…all the more as we’re feeding it
The story is old…..it’s just a shame we’re repeating it
The world’s getting cold….still the young hold heat in it
To shoot at their foes….I guess we need more Jesuses
cause then we’d probably get the message aCross
that Love’s expensive, our offenses never lessened it’s cost
But what’s Love?
Or does it really exist?
My older homie one day told me that it’s really myth
It's just a scam to have you purchasing the silliest gifts
Till you get older and start tweaking like you Williard Smith
now in some cases I can’t say that he’s wrong
But that aint the type of love I was referring to when making this song
This aint that artificial kind that you might find in a club
I mean the kind that was designed from above
I'm really talking bout… Love
I mean the Real Love, the Tough Love
The “I’m gon hold you down though you’re still dealing with some stuff” Love
“Take me as I am so I aint never gotta bluff” Love
Divine Currency that we could never get enough of
A picture that’s framed without the filters and the touch ups
…thats taken candidly - without the the vanity - there’s beauty in the scuff ups
And if you work to build the Trust up, it may just last forever

Losing Illusions
Written by: Blackwell (2022)
Produced by: Parable (Deviant Sounds)
Vocal arrangement by: Dee Parker
If you knew that you could never fail, then tell me, what would you try?
If you knew you wouldn’t fall from the sky…
Would you find the tallest building in your city, take that elevator..
To the top floor…leap, and soar over jealous haters?
Or would your vision expand
Past your detractors, matter of fact, what would you do when you land?
Would you dream? Would you plan?
Set goals like you never have?
Switch lanes, take your life stroll down a different path
That isn’t predicated by your worry and fear
You can go anywhere! So where do you steer?
Do you stay here?
Or do you find the nearest airport and travel abroad?
Or maybe Elon Musk it, go and travel the stars
Do you change who you are?
Transform to whole different you and see life through a whole different view
Trade old in for new, build tomorrows from your yesterdays
Cause when you focus on the “Now” you make the best Todays
Change your style, maybe tighten up your resume
You may go start that business then you’d probably think up several ways
To make eleven digits - that’s a Whole lot of Zeroes, a Whole lot of commas
What kind of pad would you grab for your momma and your dad?
You’d probably put your folks in some stuff they’ve never had
Peace of mind and serenity
Would kind of mountains would you climb if your energy was on infinity
And your forsook all that is limiting?
If you knew you couldn’t lose what type of game would you play?
Learn the rules, pay your dues and start playing it today
If you knew you couldn’t lose what type of game would you play?
Learn the rules, pay them dues and start playing it today
Cause what if Losing is an illusion?
And Fear is just here to keep us stuck in our confusion?
What if Losing is an illusion?
And in your story, you gon write out the conclusion?
What would you do then?
What if Losing’s an Illusion?
Never Fear, Just keep Moving
Cause you never know, how far you can go, if you just stay Focused
What if Losing’s an Illusion?
Never Fear, Just keep Moving
Cause you never know, how far you can go, if you just stay Focused
